The Derbyshire Classical Association
The Derbyshire branch of the Classical Association is newly-formed in winter 2024/5 and details of our first programme of events are still being finalised. Please check back here to find out the latest developments, or e-mail Jane at derbyshireclassicalassociation@gmail.com to be included in our e-newsletter mailing list and to get involved in organising events.
Our branch aims to offer a range of ways to engage with the classical world. Whether you are interested in the stories of the Trojan War or the world of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey; you want to find out more about the ancient site you've visited or the topics you or your children are studying, our events will be an introduction to the diversity of the ancient world. If you're teaching, or would like to teach any aspects of the ancient world, you'll be able to discuss the free training and resources that are available for East Midlands teachers, through Classics for All.
From Wednesday 15 January 2025, we'll run a regular classical book group, meeting at the Ada Belfield Centre in Belper. Free tickets and further information can be found at Classics In Derbyshire event tickets from TicketSource.
